Hogmanay and my Granny's 80th Birthday!

Again apologies for the lateness of my posts, been back at work and its hit me hard after haven some nice time off!

Here is the rundown on what I got up to for Hogmanay!

Hogmanay

I went to my friends house for drinks before heading out. We had got tickets to go to Walkabout because the last couple of years wherever we've gone has been completely to the wall, no chance of getting a drink or a seat and over the top extortionate!  So we opted for a cheap and cheerful change this year in the hope of a better night, plus we were late in deciding what to do and walkabout's were only £5, we could book a booth and they were having a casino theme so it sounded not bad!

Drinks were really reasonable for nye, two for £6 offers were available plus the usual pitchers of cocktail for £10 were also available which is what we drank to avoid too many trips to the bar. I really wasn't bothered about the casino theme that much however the advert stated there would be 'vegas showgirls' which there was two of for a little while and casino games and a  'vegas wedding chapel' which there was no sign of... the dance floor was pretty full most of the night and everyone seemed to be having a good night as I didn't see much trouble going on at all really. The bar was really busy from about 10pm till the bells and after midnight the whole place quietened quite a bit.

Overall it was a fab night because of the company more than anything plus being able to have a dance without being budged every few minutes and having somewhere to sit down made all the difference! Cheap and cheerful but much more enjoyable than Ashton Lane or Mansion House where I've been the last couple of years!

Here are some photos of the night!

My Granny's 80th Birthday, 2nd January 2013

My Grandparents live in Campbeltown which is a tiny little town in the Mull of Kintyre in Scotland. Its a beautiful place with one roundabout and one set of traffic lights and although it's lovely to visit I wouldn't be one to live there permanently as I enjoy having everything at my fingertips. Granted, it would save me some money... or maybe not as I'd just do extra online shopping. Anyway, my Granny turned 80 so to celebrate my side of the family travelled down on the 2nd to have a dinner party at the Ardsheil Hotel where we stayed which was lovely and the food was great!

I hadn't been to Campbeltown for around 5 years due to university commitments and because I'm mean and should visit my grandparents more... which, by the way, I plan to do more this year.

Here are some photos!
